Prior to being invited to join TD Wealth Private Investment Advice, Susan was an investment and wealth advisor with RBC Dominion Securites where she won the 2008 Best Practice Advisor by DS Advisory Board and where she provided a comprehensive range of investment and wealth management services customized to her select clients. Her 20 years of experience in various roles as a branch manager/ assistant vice president in a Citigroup affiliate in Asia, a private banker and a senior planner with another Canadian bank, gave her a distinct advantage in developing solid client relationship and providing world-class solutions to more complex needs of her high net worth clients.
Susan has obtained a prestigious designation of CFP or Certified Financial Planner and has completed her LLQP certification on insurance. She has a graduate degree in MBA in addition to her Bachelor of Science in Architecture. She can fluently speak and write English, Chinese Mandarin, Chinese Fukienese/ Taiwanese, and Tagalog.
To ensure her clients make sound and informed decisions, Susan is passionate about making sure her clients are educated about the various choices of investment and wealth strategies available to them. She takes extra time and care with her clients. The more her clients understand market dynamics and investing basics, the less likely of them to make unsound short term decisions based on emotions. Despite enduring the "great recession of 2008-2009", she is proud of her sound advice and disciplined investment management approach that her clients benefitted. Most of her clients' portfolios came out in much better financial shape than before the market crash of 2008-2009.
